So… Why Latex? Confidence, Empowerment & Self-Expression

Wow - where to start?
Let’s begin at the beginning (and I’ll keep it succinct… ish).

I’ll be honest with you. Many years ago, I bought a latex dress - I think it was from Ann Summers. It looked a bit like an inner tube. Dull, uninteresting… but I’d heard whispers about rubber dresses and I enjoyed a bit of cosplay, so I gave it a go.
After much wrestling, I eventually managed to drag it on - only for it to promptly roll back up over my thighs and create the most disappointing ridge imaginable.
What is the point of that? I thought.
It didn’t last long. I’m fairly sure it went straight in the bin.
Fast forward several years - maybe even ten - to 2020. I was 54 when I met Latex Lord G online.
As we got chatting, he shared photos of himself wearing latex. My curiosity was well and truly piqued. I’ve always had a thing for men in tight clothes - glam rock stars in shiny spandex in the 1970s may have had something to do with that! Add in my love of all things shiny and… well, you can see where this is going.
Strangely though, despite all that, I’d never truly embraced latex myself - until then.
Lord G looked incredible (he still does), and I love encouraging him to wear whatever he loves, because I know how good it makes him feel. He introduced me properly to latex, and that’s when everything changed.
At first, I tried on some of his pieces just to get a feel for it - with plenty of help from Lord G himself. It was a completely different experience.
Latex is incredible… and it demands respect. You have to be so careful with it.
No wonder my first attempt years earlier had been a bit meh.
Enter: dressing aid.
Dressing aid is the answer.
Talc often gets mentioned - and it can work for certain outfits and for storage — but for me, Vivishine was the game-changer. Lashings of it. Lord G applying it carefully (and enthusiastically) before helping me ease into the latex… I rather think he was enjoying himself 😄
Once I’d properly discovered how latex should be worn, I was hooked.
My first proper catsuit came from Libidex - a fabulous black number. I actually bought it second-hand, and while it looked amazing, it didn’t last long. A combination of it being slightly too small (sizing matters so much with latex) and a few extra happy-relationship pounds meant it eventually tore.
But by then? The love affair had begun.
Latex is like a second skin - a shiny second skin. It pulls everything in, smooths things out, enhances curves whatever your size, and makes you feel very different. Sensual, confident, creative. It gives you permission to play.
It brings out another side of you.
You’re still you - but a bolder, shinier version.
For me, it unlocked creativity. Lord G and I started taking photos at home. Then videos. Then content. Wearing latex shifts your energy in the same way actors must feel when they step into costume - you embody something new.
It’s not about sex, despite what many people assume. It can enhance sensuality, of course, but at its heart it’s about self-expression. Empowerment. Peacocking, if you like.
And let’s be honest - it’s not always glamorous.
In summer, you’re dripping wet inside it.
In winter, shooting outdoors feels like being naked.
And when you peel a catsuit off? Gravity swiftly reasserts itself and everything flobbers back into place.
So… why latex?
Because it’s empowering.
Because it’s fun.
Because it’s liberating.
Because it makes me feel great.
Latex has opened up a whole new chapter in my life - through creativity, connection, community, and the incredible people I’ve met along the way.
I originally started sharing my latex content on Instagram to walk my talk - as an executive coach who encourages people to be unapologetically themselves. Latex simply became another expression of that truth.
And honestly? I’ve never looked back.
